In recent years there was not much snow on the south face of the Mulhacén and at the time of fixing the date we did not have the cold wave that affects most of the peninsula these last days.
Preparations were necessary for a trail race in an environment of subzero temperatures and a few inches of snow.
The idea was a slow, but continuous race, saving the 2029 m difference and 15 km to the top, from the starting point in Hoya del Portillo, which normally mountaineers usually do in two stages, spending a night in the Shelter of Poqueira.
